Smart Projector vs WiFi Projector: Which one should you choose?

Are you in the market for a mini projector but not sure which one is best for you? With so many options out there, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But don't worry, we're here to help. In this post, we'll look at the differences between smart projectors and WiFi projectors, so you can decide on which one is best for your lifestyle.

Smart Projector

Smart projectors come with built-in apps and can connect to the internet via WiFi or mobile hotspot. This means that you can easily watch your favourite streaming apps directly on the projector. No need for any additional hardware!

Smart projectors can also play movies from a USB flash drive, which is perfect for when you're out camping or don't have access to the internet. And if you want to enhance your viewing experience, you can connect a Bluetooth speaker for high-quality sound.

WoW Smart Projectors are compatible with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Amazon Prime and Australian live TV.

WiFi Projector

WiFi projectors can also connect to the internet via wifi, but they don't come with built-in apps. Instead, you'll need to cast streaming videos from your mobile device to the projector. The issue here though is that many streaming apps won’t cast from your mobile device due to copyright issues without the investment of other hardware. So if you try the screen mirroring function to cast Netflix video to the projector, you’ll hear sound but be left starring at a black screen!

WiFi projectors are not able to install movie player apps and not able to play videos properly with Dolby sound, which makes it difficult say if you were out camping. You can only play selective video formats from a USB. Some WiFi projectors have Bluetooth connections to connect to speakers, while others don’t.

Another issue here is if you have an unstable wireless connection, it can affect video quality making it a pretty unpleasant viewing experience.

Which One Should You Choose?

So, which one should you choose? Well, if you're looking for a hassle-free experience and don't want to deal with any additional hardware, a smart projector is the way to go. With a smart projector, you can watch all your favourite compatible streaming apps without any trouble, plus you can play movies from a USB flash drive and connect a Bluetooth speaker for better sound.
